Rua do Lavradio
Rua do Lavradio is a street in downtown, located between Rua do Riachuelo and Rua Visconde do Rio Branco.
It was one of the most noble streets of Rio until the middle of last century, where famous figures as the Duke of Caxias, the Marquis of Olinda and the Marquis de Cantagalo have lived.
It was opened in 1771 by the second Marquis of Lavradio (Luis de Almeida Soares of Portugal Alarcão Eça e Melo e Silva Mascarenhas) when he was viceroy, and he built his residence at the corner of Rua da Relação.
The street gained fame because in 1996 a group of antique dealers and owners of bars and restaurants decided to create the Feira do Rio Antigo, and after the success of this initiative began a Recovery and Redevelopment project of the Rua do Lavradio by the Prefecture of Rio.

Confeitaria Colombo
Founded by Portuguese immigrants in 1894, it is considered the living picture of the Belle Époque in Rio. The old furniture, the crystal mirrors brought from Antwerp and the fames engraved in jacarandá wood are a true exhibition of Art Noveau. The menu keeps traditional dishes from the foundation of the patisserie.
